I have been told many times that my blog does not even remotely resemble the person I am in real-life, the last time with someone jabbing a finger into my shoulder blades and exclaiming: You sure this is your blog ar?.
I must agree, however half-heartedly.
My on-screen persona is the more serious counterpart of me, and the one more fluent in the spoken language of English. My normal day, conversing language would be a mixture of chinese and english words through in occasionally, with a heavy peppering of 'loh's and what nots. In other words, I am just like any other singaporean teenager in Singapore =)
I am an extremely touch-feely kind of person, in a non-perverted manner of speaking hehe. As in when I talk, my hands would automatically tap the other on the shoulder (something one of my friends told me) or even grab on to the other's upper arm. Over Internet, there is no way for me to converse like I do in person, hence, I tend to withdraw away emotionally from people online. Which is why I prefer talking over the phone to messaging, and why I prefer talking in person to talking over the phone.
And, I am extremely talkative (and 'bubbly', as quoted from a friend of mine), with a good dose of sarcasm at times and prone to cold jokes. At least, when I am with my closer friends. One would notice I tend to clam up around people I don't really know or aren't very close to. I don't believe in talking just for the sake of it. When there is nothing much to say, often, I don't say a thing, liking to indulge in the quiet companionship offered in lieu.
There are simply times I don't feel like saying anything.
Maybe because people are too used to me talking actively, so whenever one of my quiet spells crops up, they would immediately start asking if something happened to me, am I angry etc even when I am smiling and nodding to their quips earlier. Quite the opposite. I don't get angry easily, because I am a strong believer that anger brings about wrinkles =P
Recently, I was out scouring for Mp3s, with iPod mini domineering because of its design and of course, the touch pad =D I was also considering Creative's new MP3, creative Stone, who won me over with its sleek and mini design (and reminded me horribly of iPod shuffle in the process).
Then, I saw the new iPod touch.
And went OMG. I WANT THAT.
Lol, it isn't an impossible dream, but yes, it is a hard to reach goal. Simply imagining the months I have to cut back on spending my allowance chills my heart. Imagining the shopping expenses that has to be cut down makes me groan. The meals at Cafe Cartel I have to miss. The occasional movie outings. The frequent bag buying trips.
I have been trying to convince myself it is a waste of money, because my current phone already has a decent inbuilt mp3 and an mp3 would serve no other purpose buuuuuuuttttttttttttttttttttttt one look at the picture and I go all "aw...i want that.".
