RATATOUILLE. Only the cutest movie to have come to town.
Cue Remy, a rat who dreams of becoming a chef. Meet Linguini, garbage boy.
Mesh the two together and what do you get? A rat made from linguini. haha.
All you would get would be a rat controlled garbage boy.
Despite the seemingly uninteresting storyline, Ratatouille was surprisingly attention-grabbing throughout, with interesting taglines and cute characters. It happened to be the only one of the few movies I went to this year I didn't regret watching =D
It is THAT good.
On the other hand, we see orangutan-ahem- sorry, Jay Chou acting in his self-directed movie, Secret.
This was one movie I didn't regret watching online. Imagine, if I had actually spent the money to watch the movie, I would be complaining still come next year.
Cliche storyline, eyeball-rolling inducing moments especially at the drama, loads of incomprehensible mumbling from Jay fills the movie. Jay, in his role as the ever enigmatic Lun (no prizes for lack of imagination), is as entertaining as a block of wood in a timber shed. But, I have to give credit to his piano playing =) The five minutes of the piano competition was the only time I was able to resist hitting the forward button.
Onto other things in my mundane life, Carissa and I disturbed Sou Mun who was sitting at the other end of the long table by calling her name randomly during the half hour break to entertain ourselves. Sou Mun kept alternating with mock-glaring at us and Yiling, who was laughing her head off.
Leneta was stoning beside me because she was suffering from an overdose of boredness. To take the edge off her boredness, she kept prodding me, Carissa and Yiling, her nearest neighbours, on the cheek and shaking the table suddenly when we were doing our econs homework.
One of the conversations that simply popped out of the blue had the whole group laughing non-stop. It went this way:
Carissa: Leneta, did you go tanning?
Leneta: No lah, I was at one of those beaches in Thailand last week. Swimming.
Carissa: You went Thailand to swim?
Leneta: More of snorkling lah.
Me (looks up from my econs homework and started laughing): Please loh, who will go to Thailand just to swim?
Then, we simply started laughing non-stop. Leneta was like: Oh yah hor, I didn't even realise how stupid it(Carissa's last sentence) sounded!
Then Carissa, in fit of embarassment and laughter, smacked the both of us on our heads for laughing at her.
And repeating the entire story to the class of course. =P
