A perfect curve against the maroon sky, with a hint of red in the wine-gold shade.
It made me wonder at the beauty night wrought, and contemplate about the peaceful silence that lacked during the day.
I was oddly contemplative on the way home from Ang Mo Kio, after a day of k-boxing and silent reading in the library with Sou Mun, listening in on the new tracks updated onto my mp3 courtesy of Sou.
I had been a long time since I had really sat down in the library to read a novel.
Once, in the past, it was almost a daily occurrence for me. After school, I would swing by the library; if there were seats, I would curl up with a good book and wile the day just like that. If there weren't any seats (the library at hougang was known for its notoriously small space area) which accounts for most of the time, I would borrow out 4 books and head home, despite the heavy book load I already have.
But ever since JC started, I found myself losing touch with the books I used to love so much. Today reminded me of how much I missed gliding my fingers along the worn spines of the books along the book shelves, scanning through the titles in search of my favoured authors, fingering through to the last pages to see how the ending turned out before actually reading the book.
K Box, however, was an entirely new experience for me.
Picking up the cold body of the mike was so foreign to me. I was quite reserved at first, because I didn't exactly feel comfortable about hearing my voice projected out loud in all its off tune glory. But honestly, singing is tiring. And makes one yearn for a good cup of ice cold cappucino.
But it was a fun day, with alot of crapping and freezing temperatures.
After alot of thinking, I have come to the conclusion that I am more of a night person than a day person. I prefer the moon to the sun, dark moody days to the bright unerringly happy sunlit morning, maroon skies to bright blue ones. Th stark contrast between the artificial lightings and the natural darkness night brings to the golden rays of the sun and slanting shadows of the buildings.
And I think if school were to be conducted during the night, I might love studying even.
